Testimonials & Reviews
I am so excited to be able to road test and review the Manduca baby carrier! As an avid baby wearer (the term used for those of us who enjoy carrying our babies and children on our bodies) I have tried several different carriers including ring slings, pouch, mei tai and the more traditional structural carriers.
I received my Manduca and was impressed first of all by the packaging-a nice, neat box with great information on the outside. I was a bit disappointed that it did not come with an instructional DVD like other carriers I have purchased in the past did which is essential if you have never used a baby carrier before.
The included instructions could be more extensive and perhaps only in English/German editions so as to make it easier to read.
As for the construction of the Manduca, I was impressed. Good quality fabric and the straps and buckles are of a good quality. The stitching is strong and the waist band is well structured. There is a broad range of adjustability of the straps. I particularly liked the waist buckled once I worked out to push in the catch first. Perhaps a more detailed section in the instructional book would help with this.
I then proceeded to quickly put Mr S, my 9.2kg, 80-odd cm tall, 8 month old into the carrier which I did with ease as I am familiar with the “M” placement of the legs from using my Mei Tai carrier. I quite liked the fact that the Manduca has the structured waist band as it helps with heavier babies or children. The shoulder straps comfortable. I only tried it quickly as I was on my way out.
So far I found these suggestions to improve the Manduca:
1. Better instructional manual. One language and more detailed information.
2. An instructional DVD would be a must have addition
I will write further reviews once I have given the Manduca a proper road test. I will also attempt to use it with my 15kg Mr N on board

The manduca 3-in-1 baby carrier really does grow with your child from newborn to pre-school, making it excellent value, as you will use it for years.
From birth, it’s a baby front carrier, with your newborn held safely by the built-in infant pouch (newborn insert). From approximately three months old, your Manduca carrier becomes a baby hip carrier, then finally, from 6 months, a baby back carrier.
Unfold the hidden head and neck support (when needed), to cradle your baby’s sleeping head. The ingenious extendable back provides great support for bigger children (up to 20kg) or extra head support for newborns.
Manduca is all about having fun and enjoying the freedom of babywearing! We showed how manduca could make your next holiday easier at a recent Sydney show with a tropical theme, and some enthusiastic manduca wearers!
"Just a quick note to thank you for sending the Manduca Baby Carrier. I've ended up using it every day. Sapphira loves it, it's comfortable for both of us, and makes breastfeeding in public so easy. I took her around Taraonga Zoo recently. Here we are in the gondola." Tara Moss.

*Baby’s knees are higher than their bottom – creating an M shape – orthopedically ideal. The M position corresponds to a baby’s natural position and helps their hips to mature as nature intended. The baby’s knees are pulled up, often as high as the tummy button. In this way, the baby’s legs and bottom form a capital “M”.
