In the Press - BellyBelt brings in lots of gelt

The BellyBelt panel buttons on to jeans or other garments so you can wear your own clothes throughout your pregnancy.

There's another face to Seaforth television newsreader Christine Kininmonth featured in All Woman today. It's that of inventor of the BellyBelt, a neat elasticised detachable maternity panel that turns ordinary jeans, pants, skirts and shorts into maternity wear. It doesn't alter the garment and is invisible under a maternity shirt or jacket.

And it can save hundreds of dollars that would have been spent on maternity gear because now pregnant women can wear their own clothes. It all started when Christine was pregnant and wanted tailored clothes like the ones sitting in her wardrobe.

"What newsreaders wear under the desk took on a whole new meaning," she said. "I persisted with trousers held up by rubber bands and bits of string until I came up with the BellyBelt." It works with front, side or back fastening garments.

"I didn't have to buy a single piece of maternity wear for work because I could look more professional in my own tailored clothes."
